Thus, I basically just shared what my teachers and students were doing at New Milford High School (NJ) and the evidence that showed how our implementations of innovative ideas were improving student outcomes as well as teaching, learning, and leadership practices. Pedagogy Let’s begin with engagement. Successful remote learning is dependent on the consistent utilization of effective teaching strategies and pedagogy that empowers all kids to think and apply their thinking in relevant ways. Additionally, the digital divide is wider than many perceived.
The focus must be on how the LEARNER is using it to LEARN in alignment with sound strategies and pedagogy. My statement above is meant to reassure all educators that the tenets of good teaching, sound pedagogy, and research on learning are of the utmost importance. The short walk down memory lane reminds me of why I was exhausted during my beginning years of teaching. There was also an emphasis on moving to inquiry and project-based pedagogies. Seek out or ask for professional learning support on remote and hybrid pedagogy. After all, I was a science teacher, and the fit was natural.
The key is to not only rely on this teaching technique as it mainly focuses on providing information and modeling as opposed to active learning. Create opportunities for students to teach each other. Hence the need for research-based pedagogies that don't prepare kids for something but anything! Find ways to include novelty.

The best classroom management strategy is sound pedagogy.
This means looking at key practices such as Tier 1 instruction, pedagogy, assessment, feedback, differentiation, RTI , real co-teaching , and professional learning to see where there is an opportunity to grow.
