One way to do this is to incorporate a variety of primary sources into lessons, including documents and speeches from underrepresented groups. It allows students to select a presentation model based on their own skills or interests.

The plan was to make it a museum that focuses on the history of Black Americans’ struggles both during and after enslavement. history with my 11th-grade students, we began the year by corroborating Columbus’s story and used texts from A Young People’s History , traditional textbooks, videos, and other primary sources.
