OPINION: Too many students just aren’t interested in what is being taught

I didn’t explore my Korean heritage until college and only learned about LGBTQ+ historical leaders in my late twenties. Still, my love of history had an outlet in school. Social studies was the class I excelled in because it felt most meaningful. There are hundreds of national parks, many of which focus on local history.
