Another new eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula

Another new eruption started at 11.14pm on Wednesday evening (Nov 20, 2024), in the Sundhnúks craters - where previous eruptions have occurred. Benedikt Ófeigsson from the Met Office reported that the fissure was extending exclusively northeast, spanning just over two kilometers. The lava flow was initially primarily moving westward toward Grindavíkurvegur (the road).
