Record low sea-ice. which is further bad news

I've blogged quite a few times about stories that I first taught about years ago which were possibly going to happen by 2100, but which are happening right now. or in the next decade or so. These formed part of the broad glaciation topic which formed part of the Cambridge 'A' level that I taught back in the 1980s. One of them related to the effect of shrinking sea ice, which would increase the albedo in Polar regions and lead to a further reduction in sea ice.

Im a junior in college now, closer to the end of that journey than the start. My journey hasnt changed, but the environment surrounding it has. In the last 10 years, enrollment in humanities majors has decreased by 17 percent.

Thanks to Rob Chambers for the tipoff to a Conversation article on flowers , and the efforts to meet the demand around Valentine's Day which leads to millions of air freighted blooms from African nations being imported to countries such as the UK. Louise Ellis authored one of the GA's KS3 Toolkit books called 'A Thorny Issue' on this issue, and the employment that is created, plus some environmental issues.
