With each passing year, I am always amazed that I continue to blog with consistency. There is a nice mix of concepts including personalization, educationaltechnology, leadership, and school culture. It has become much more challenging, which is why I made the decision to move to a bi-monthly writing schedule.

When I think back to my life as an educator prior to becoming connected, I can honestly say that I was isolated, naive, and definitely not as well rounded as I am today. The purpose of the "Superintendent''s Council" is to allow students to have a voice and empower them to make meaningful changes to the culture of the District. They spoke of the History teacher who was having them blog to reflect critically on world history content where they could interact with each other and share their thoughts.
As we navigated the hallways and classrooms, I was able to experience firsthand the school culture that is fostered at New Milford High School. He has dual NYS certification in Secondary Social Studies and as an EducationalTechnology Specialist- daily utilizing both skill sets.
The idea then popped into my head that I should archive all of these in a blog post. An idea is wasted if it is not acted upon leading to change in culture and/or practice. As I looked through my updates I noticed that I had posted quite a few quotes, ideas, thoughts, and opinions on leading change. It is time to do what you do better.
When moving to initiate sustainable change that will cultivate innovation acquire necessary resources, provide support (training, feedback, advice), empower educators through a certain level of autonomy, communicate effectively, and implement a shared decision-making practice. That and being digitally resilient.
Let me begin by saying that I was absolutely honored that various members of my Professional Learning Network (PLN) and the greater educational community reached out to me to address administrators looking to embrace social media, plan an educationaltechnology conference at my school, and discuss leadership in the digital age.
