Throughout this lesson, my students not only learn the content but also develop criticalthinking skills as they analyze evidence, put together persuasive arguments and respectfully debate their peers. This part helped students connect primarysource analysis to the broader motivations for European exploration, further deepening their historical thinking skills. To enhance their writing, we utilized AI feedback through Claude Artifact, allowing students to receive targeted suggestions on how to improve their topic sentences.
