I routinely speak about the need for students to produce learning artifacts that demonstrate conceptual mastery. Knowledge often comes to us via transcribed content or artifacts, which is derived from other''s knowledge. These are facts, concepts, processes, procedures, and principles (Clark & Chopeta, 2004).
Along with video , pictures were one of the most potent artifacts that I used to tell our story through greater context. Many of these became the catalyst for more detailed blog posts that illustrated how theory and research were being implemented in a way that led to evidence of better results. Apparently, there was a reason for this.
He also developed his own blog and started a Twitter account for his classes. He is now working on developing a student project where they will use iMovie to create artifacts of learning related to historical concepts later this year.
