The UC Davis California History Social Science Project frames current events within their historical context , connecting students’ present to the past. And, if I was stuck for an idea for class, I could access the Social Studies lessonplans at Educade or the 400+ lessonplans at the EDSITEment!
My intent as an UGRR participant was to stretch my localhistory knowledge and to sharpen my historical-geographical thinking skills. A second teacher candidate described learning more about localhistory that he ever knew about.
