And so we dive into NAJVS archives and their fabulous Palik Series of early Jules Verne translations edited by Brian Taves [1959-2019]. The lack of tradition and belief in individual initiative appealed to the young Verne. And besides, his publisher, Pierre-Jules Hetzel [1814-1886] , was a liberal Republican and an atheist!
