The National Council for History Education (NCHE) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources program (TPS). As of February 2025, NCHE serves as the director of one of the Librarys newest regional granting entities, the Great Plains Region.

For the past three summers, teachers rallied across the country to speak out against anti-history education bills and to make public their pledge to teach the truth. Once again, we invite educators, students, parents, and community members to rally across the country and pledge to #TeachTruth and defend LGBTQ+ rights on June 8, 2024.

Thanks to a generous collaboration with Dartmouth College historian Matthew Delmont , the Zinn Education Project sent 14,000 copies of Delmont’s book Half American: The Epic Story of African Americans Fighting World War II at Home and Abroad to public school teachers, school librarians, and teacher educators.

More than 9,000 teachers signed up to access peoples history lessons in 2024 ,bringing our full registration at the Zinn Education Project to close to 170,000 teachers, with representation from every state.
