If you are ever in the area, this National Historic Site is well worth seeing. This was the first stop on my 2023 Civil War History Tour. The room in the McLean house where Lee surrendered to Grant. Be sure to check out one of the short tours by the park rangers. I think ours was 1 hour, but it was well worth it.

Host an information table at a public site (such as a library, bookstore, or farmers market) or organize a gathering at a historic site. All you need to do is select a site and register.

At least three districts in addition to Norfolk say they plan to offer the advanced placement course in the 2023-24 school year. The historical site, about 12 miles away from Norfolk, is a popular field trip destination. But there are also sections on music, art, entrepreneurship and other achievements, Allison said.
