As syndemics can be traced back in time through bioarcheology and archivalresearch, described in contemporary disease crises through ethnography and epidemiology, and projected into the further as a result of the ongoing cascade of emergent infectious diseases, teaching syndemics allows a wide historic perspective on human health.
The research for this project earned the 2020 APSA Best Fieldwork Award and the 2021 Juan Linz Prize for Best Dissertation in the Comparative Study of Democracy. All of his research employs a multi-method approach, utilizing experimental and natural experimental data alongside extensive interviewing and archivalresearch.
By July 2021, 72 percent of undergraduates said that their awareness of social justice issues had increased over the preceding year, and just under half reported that their involvement in social justice efforts was impacting their career choices, according to a survey by Best Colleges.
