Book Bans Threaten Public Education

The Oklahoma law HB 1775, passed in 2021, restricts teaching that could make a student “feel discomfort, guilt, anguish or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex.” Remind people that the bans go way beyond books — the attacks target the teaching of history and a more inclusive curriculum.
