He also completed an APSA Oral History Interview in 1993, where he shares his experiences in the discipline of political science. In 2012, Holdens biography was entered into the U.S. Bunche Award Committee (1983), and the Centennial Campaign Presidents Council (98-03). Two years later, he was awarded an honorary L.H.D.
